I sensed the warm sun on my neck
And turned to look up behind me.
A dragging trail drawn on the sands,
Which vanished at the feet of dune.
Was the dune there long before?
I can’t remember it not bring there.
And yet i have visions of another land
Where I used to live one day,
And brushed shoulders with the siblings,
The tiny specks and grains of sand,
And when the harsh sun burnt our souls,
The wind would caress us with her love.
The trail then ended near the dune.
I looked around me in a daze,
I stressed my mind to cut the haze.
Around me were too rolling on,
Lots and lots of grains of sand.
And then my mind cut though the haze,
With visions of the blowing wind,
Which from love became a gale,
And picked and flew us on its wings.
We screamed in fright at each other,
But our voice got drowned in the storm.
As we saw the sand flow down,
From one world to the other one.
Through the narrow bridge that connected both.
The time running out on one life,
As morning dawned on a new life.
Enjoyed the poem Deb!

Deb, wonderful imagery, and well-chosen photos. >3 The desert would not be my chosen environment, but your lovely poem shows its beauty and power.
Enjoy your week!

Thank you Cheryl, I am so glad that you liked the poem 💖 I have never seen a desert in my life and I too imagine it to be a very hostile and difficult place. I was thinking how our lives are but just a speck of dust in the vast history of time, and I think that brought the desert in 🙂

My pleasure! I’ve been good and life’s been keeping me busy!
Oh you don’t have to apologize. Even after a year that’s one of the things I couldn’t get them to fix. Also, have you tried turning on the notifications for my blog (sometimes it helps)??
